Dr. April is a pediatrician turned Mini Medical School founder and podcaster. Her journey into this space began while completing a clinical research fellowship at the University of Michigan. There, she explored in depth how media can model, promote, and influence healthy behaviors in children (and adults). This experience was enriched with an Internship at the Sesame Workshop’s Research and Evaluation Department, service on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Communications and Media, and presentation of her media research to a national academic audience. As the Founder of eekMD, she's combining her passions for health and educational media to develop in young children early health literacy in fun and innovative ways.
