Hi, I’m Carly! I’m a veteran music educator, performer, and the voice behind Miss Carly’s Car Rides. You know what’s interesting? Creating a music education podcast was never the goal - being a really good music teacher was. But this is where it landed, and I couldn’t be happier.
I have a B.M. in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from the Eastman School of Music and an M.A. in Music Education from Columbia University. I’m Orff Schulwerk Level III certified and K–12 public school certified in NJ, NY, and CT. Before any of this lived online, I spent over 15 years teaching early childhood and elementary school music, mostly in New York City schools.
I’m also the founder of Saddle River Song, a movement-and-music class for babies and toddlers that started small and grew into a program with a loyal following in Bergen County, New Jersey. Saddle River Song exists for the same reason all my work does: I believe young children deserve real music education: playful, embodied, and actually designed for how kids learn.
Miss Carly’s Car Rides grew out of my classroom. Every song, every story, and every episode is rooted in actual teaching practice - it's just delivered from the front seat instead of the carpet! It’s intentional, experience-driven work, made to be joyful for kids and genuinely useful for parents.
At the end of the day, I make music for kids because I’ve spent my whole career listening to them. I’m so glad you’re here, and I’ll see you on the road!
Love,
Miss Carly
